Momentum is Building Annual Conference

For more than 25 years, Momentum Is Building (MIB) has offered up-to-date building science information, practical hands-on information and new technology displays for building trades professionals – including homebuilders, electricians and heating-plumbing contractors, realtors, bankers, and others involved in the construction/retrofitting industries – along with rural electric cooperative personnel.

Rural Electric Cooperatives across Iowa will join in sponsorship of this conference being held at the Sheraton Hotel, West Des Moines, Iowa on February 8-9, 2018. MIB also includes a trade show where attendees can visit with vendors from a variety of companies and see and learn about new products. Several sessions will offer CEUs, including up to six electrical CEUs and up to six CEUs in several HVAC discipline areas.

Nationally-recognized speakers will share their knowledge, including keynote speaker Gord Cooke, Construction Instruction, Ontario, Canada, who will discuss “Meeting the Expectations of Today’s Consumers with High Performance Homes.” Other conference topics include air quality and ventilation strategies, best building practices and techniques, high-performance HVAC, mechanical code updates, residential wiring updates, using social media and more.

This conference offers a wonderful opportunity for local contractors to get the latest information on the building industry. In addition, networking with the experts and with others who face similar situations is always one of the most valuable aspects of the conference as well as learning about new tools to add to our energy-efficiency programs.
