Des Moines, Ia. - Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) announced today that Dave Nicholson has been named Vice President Finance and CFO effective today. Nicholson replaces Andrew St. John following his appointment as Executive Vice President and CEO.

Dave’s past accomplishments demonstrate dedication to fulfilling an organizational mission, which for CIPCO is to provide wholesale power and services to our members in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner.”

Nicholson is coming to CIPCO from Linn-Marr Community School District where he served as the Chief Financial and Operating Officer. Dave’s prior work experience includes Executive Director of Business Services for the Cedar Rapids Community School District and Chief Financial Officer for Central Rivers Area Education Agency. Dave has also been a member of various educational and community organizations, committees and boards and was the Iowa Association of School Business Officials Professional Leadership Award Recipient in 2023.
His demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, integrity, and the ability to build strong working relationships at the local and state level will be an asset for CIPCO. Dave’s experience and collaborative approach will benefit CIPCO and our Member-owners.
